Charles Wheatston - Concertina Patent 10,041 - 1844 - Instrument

Although Charles Wheatstone had already built a prototype of a concertina in December 1829 (Patent No. 5803, Figure 45), he did not file the first patent for a concertina until 1844.

In the Concertina Patent of 1844 No. 10,041, Charles Wheatstone lists all his improvements to his instrument invented in 1829 and calls it a double-action concertina.

He also describes future improvements for the concertina.

Then 8 improvements to the Theme Free Reed are listed and at the end 8 patent claims for technical improvements are also filed.

You can find all technical drawings (figures 1 to 18) of patent No. 10,041 from 1844 as 3D models in the patent folder. As well as all models of the 8 patent claims.

You will find all technical descriptions with cross sections and exploded views in the Technique Folder.

In the main folder you will find renders of the finished instrument.
