On December 15, 1965, the Gemini VI spacecraft flew into space to rendezvous with the Gemini VII spacecraft.

It was the first time that two spacecraft met in space, known as the Gemini 6 rendezvous.
The crew of Gemini 6 (Walter Schirra and Tom Stafford) smuggled a tiny harmonica and tiny bells into the spacecraft.

On December 16th in the morning, after the astronauts' sleep phase was over, Commander Pilot Walter Schirra surprised the ground crew Capcom and the crew of Gemini VII (Frank Borman and Jim Lovell) with a small harmonica "concert".

Schirra claimed to have spotted an unidentifiable object traveling south from the North Pole ..... (santa claus)
Shortly thereafter, the music of Jingle Bells played on a small 4-hole 8-note harmonica (known as Hohner's Little Lady) was heard over the radio.

It was the first time a musical instrument had been played by humans in space.

As a tribute to this special event I have made a couple of small harmonica variations.
