管絃祭

The Kangen-sai Festival is held every year at Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island.

It was introduced by Taira no Kiyomori during the Heian period. It was modeled after the Gagaku Boat Festival held at the Imperial Court, which was celebrated with magnificently decorated boats.

The festival begins at the shrine, after which there is a procession, at low tide, with a portable shrine to the world famous Torii in the water where the festival boat is already waiting for the shrine.

The festival boat makes its way to the opposite mainland, visiting other shrines and returning to Itsukushima Shrine at night.

When the festival was introduced, the festival ship set out alone until one day it almost capsized and was rescued by ships from neighboring ports.
Since then, it has been traditional for these "escort ships" from these ports to pull and secure the festival ship.

雅楽かんげん音楽が流れるお祭り船

毎年宮島の厳島神社で開催されます。

平安時代に平清盛によって紹介されました。そのモデルは、宮廷で華やかに飾られた船で祝われた雅楽祭でした。

祭りは神社で始まり、干潮時には、祭りの船がすでに神社を待っている水の中の世界的に有名な鳥居への携帯用神社で行列があります。

祭りの船は反対側の本土に向かい、他の神社を訪れ、夜には厳島神社に戻ります。

大元神社

祭りが紹介されたとき、祭りの船は、ある日、ほぼ転覆し、近隣の港からの船によって救助されるまで、自力で出発しました。
それ以来、これらの「護衛船」が祭りの船をこれらの港から引き出して固定するのが伝統でした。
