Folder in creation process.

Short INFO

For my Sheng series project, I tried to research the history of the organ to find the connections between the Asian FreeReed organs and the Western organs.

Independently of the development of the Chinese Sheng mouth organ, the Western organ developed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

However, there are points of connection between the Sheng and Western organs in religion and history.

The western organ history "begins" with the development of the Hydraulis (water organ) by Ctesibius 3cet BC in Alexandria and reaches its peak in the 18th century with instruments such as the positive organ, the portative organ, the Regal, or the church organ.

In my research I have also come across speculative organ instruments that are said to have been played in the Jerusalem Temple according to biblical writings.

Many of these organ instruments (biblical, speculative or historical) I have recreated as 3D models and will collect them in this folder.

The history of the Western organ and the Asiatic free reed organ merged at the end of the 18th century, and this new connection gave rise to an innumerable number of new instruments. (These models of free reed music instruments I will collect in another folder).
