gagaku the japanese court music from the 7th century is divided into several genres and countries of origin. the main influences come from the former three kingdoms of korea, from china, from india and also from the region of southeast asia. In the 5th century there was already a Korean court music ensemble at the Japanese court. Between the 5th and 7th centuries, more and more music influences from China, India and Southeast Asia were added.
