Organ Art in the Basilica is the most important part of my Saint Cecilia project
In search of how, when and why Cecilia became the patron saint of music even though she had nothing to do with music before the ~15th century, I went in search of Art with musical instruments in the Basilica of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere Rom
I wanted to understand how great the influence of the basilica was on Saint Cecilia's connection with music instruments, since she was buried there, she experienced her matyrdom there, and her body was rediscovered there intact.
Did Cecilia's association with musical instruments starts from the basilica, or was it brought into the basilica from outside?
The time when and where which instruments were painted or modeled in connection with Saint Cecilia in the basilica, can (and did) possibly answer this question.
