Organ History - Portativ Shoulder

Portative is an organ variant that was popular from at least the 13th century until about the 16th century.
After that it lost popularity.

It is a "handy" organ variant that can either be played with a strap over the shoulder, or placed on the leg while sitting.
It does not require a second player for the bellows as is common with the other organ variants.

This small organ was not called portative from the beginning, but the name established itself and probably comes from portare or portatus.

I have made 2 groups 3D Models of the portative organ:

Portativ Shoulder
Portativ Leg

There are only very few preserved models,
my models for the 3D models are representations in paintings, church glass paintings or carvings.
