Yanggeum 양금 - 揚琴

The Yanggeum came to Korea from China in the 18th century.
In China it is known as Yangqin 揚琴 and was brought to China from Persia.

Metal strings. It is played by striking the strings with a thin bamboo stick.
The name already indicates the western origin.

Known as a Santur in Persian and Iraqi cultures. Santoor in India
This kind of zither (hammered dulcimer) are common from Western Europe to East Asia.
