The first harmonica models vary in layout, there are almost no records of the first models.

I have found photos of old harmonicas with dates from the first 20 years of harmonica history.

However, the dates are not confirmed and may have been entered speculatively.

Nevertheless, I have recreated three of these "first" harmonicas as 3D models.

You can also see models of a new free reed technique developed around 1810, which evolved from the jaw harp.

In addition to the free reed technique of the Chinese Sheng, this free reed variant is sometimes also speculatively named as the origin of the harmonica free reeds.
