Japanese Taikos are basically divided into two groups, the byo-uchi-daiko (leather tied with nails) and the shime daiko (leather tied with ropes). The Ujime-daiko belongs to the Shime daikos. To the Odeko shime daiko, she is the great Odeko-daiko. The advantage of the Taikos stretched with ropes is that they can be tightened very easily.
