The sanshin (三線, literally "three strings") is an Okinawan musical instrument and precursor of the mainland Japanese (and Amami Islands) shamisen ( 三味線). Often likened to a banjo, it consists of a snakeskin-covered body, neck and three strings.
i build this String Instrument for a Japanese String Musical Instrument series. It is realated with the Japanese Prefecture Okinawa and a very important Folk Musical Instrument Symbol for that Prefecture. Traditional it is made with Okinawan Ebony Wood, what is the only Ebony Tree in Japan.
The decorative Textil is a very Important part of this Instrument, in my 3d model it shows a Royality Symbol from History.
More Details and History about the sanshin come with a short Video next time
